These are great decor items for the autumn months and Thanksgiving, in particular. Sew them of cotton with a little batting and quilting to hang on the wall; or from banner materials to hang out-of-doors. They will brighten the darkening days of fall as leaves drift down and the weather cools.
Sam can do anything, just like the Pilgrims of old. Anything, that is, except kill Old Tom, the turkey. You see, Tom has gotten to be somewhat of a pet through the many months Sam has been raising him. So Sam DID bring home the bird.........in a bag from the supermarket. A bird that was a stranger to Sam; not like his old friend, Tom, destined to live to a ripe old age, if Sam has anything to do with it.
Sue is the best Pilgrim there is. She can do everything, as long as Sam kills the bird. She doesn't like that part. She's up early on Thanksgiving morning preparing the feast. Snow is beginning to fall outside and the wind is blowing - but inside it's warm and steamy and the smells of the holiday are wafting heavenward. Finally, with a flourish, Sue sweeps in, bird on platter; the table is ready and heads are bowed. Hearts are full of thanks for the bounty of the land!
