A Pattern for a 52" x 52" Lap Quilt or Wall Hanging
Pieced Hearts with Redwork Embroidery
This is a fun quilt to make. The blocks are easy to piece and the border can be made as a scalloped design or plain straight edges.
The pattern includes the story of the courtship of the parents of Daniel Webster, which was the inspiration for the embroidery designs, themselves. Daniel's father, Ebenezer Webster, was with George Washington in the Revolutionary War and married Abigail Eastman. Daniel was a sickly child but the ministrations of Abigail helped him grow up strong, graduate from Dartmouth College and become the great public servant we know he was.
A complete shopping list and sewing directions are included with traceable patterns for the embroidered blocks.
